Guest & Roberts, or should I say, Carl and Martyn are builders. They are not businessmen in suits and ties, they build. They came recommended by a neighbour who had recently had a house built. Two down to earth guys, what you see is what you get. Knowledgeable in their field and always happy to offer advice and ideas.

They are a small operation with two other guys working with them but they have a team of experts behind them who they use to do their electrical, roofing, joinery, plumbing etc. The only way I can describe the work they did for me is "stunning". It is exactly how I wanted it. Nothing is too much trouble and when there is a glitch (as there always is) they soon get it sorted.

Guest and Roberts were employed to complete the construction of my three storey, four bedroom house in 2006. My wife and I can recommend them with utmost confidence. The inevitable pressures associated with housebuilding were eased by the professional approach of the two business partners.

A sensitive, well informed dialogue was maintained throughout the build. Regular, constructive consultation was a strong feature of the client-builder relationship . Deadlines to complete various stages of the work were met and unnecessary delays were avoided.

Minor obstacles associated with a new build were discussed fully and promptly and satisfactory outcomes were achieved. Their employees and specialist sub-contractors were courteous and conscientious and did not compromise the high standards set by Carl and Martyn. Site safety and general organisation of materials and equipment helped the build to proceed smoothly.

        Building firms don't always come with the best of reputations, however, Guest & Roberts surpassed our expectations. The team were a delight to have around, they were very reliable, honest, trustworthy and thoroughly nice people, they always arrived on time, worked diligently and always tidied up at they end of the day. Costs for the work were clear and fair from the original quotation to completion - no nasty surprises or hidden extras. I very much appreciated that they were always contactable and always responded if telephoned for whatever reason nothing was ever to much trouble.

May i take the opportunity to thank Guest & Roberts for the excellent work which they carried out for us, we were impressed with their "old fashioned values" i.e.builders who take pride in their work, who are hardworking and completed tasks to a high standard. Carl and Martyn and their team built our extension for us a few years ago. From start to finish, we could not have wished for a more professional  and thorough build. They made what could have potentially been a difficult and`tricky`project into a smooth and professionally executed build. Their attention to detail and general workmanship was un compromised, the whole way through the renovation process. Choosing a builder can be a daunting task. Can I trust the quality of work? The ability, the honesty and value for money of the people quoting for the work? I went through all that when trying to decide on a builder for my project, so I can make the decision easy for you! The work Martyn and Carl carried out for me involved extending my house in a number of areas, and was a large project to take on. Some aspects of the work required a great deal of technical knowledge and expertise to ensure the house was adequatley supported while main structural walls were removed. While some well known builders clearly did not feel capable of carrying out the work and did not present a quote, Carl and Martyn completed such tasks with skill and care, producing superb results. I have discovered that many well known builders you may appoint carry out little of the work themselves, and appoint sub-contractors to work on your house without any overall ownership of the job. In contrast, Carl and Martyn are on site all the time, carrying out the majority of work themselves supported by plumbing, electrical and plastering specialists who they know well and use regularly. Martyn and Carl are totally honest, trustworthy, are highly skilled craftsmen, and genuinely nice people. I am delighted with the results they have produced and if I should ever require further building work, i would not consider anyone else, I am happy for anyone to telephone me at any time for a personal recomendation.

I recently returned to live in England after being in South Africa for over 20 years, I decided to move into my sons house which had been empty for over 4 years and had suffered a flood in the bad weather. I decided to have a kitchen extension and after being let down by someone who started with the groundwork i contacted GUEST AND ROBERTS to quote for the work. Firstly i telephoned Carl who was on holiday in Tenerife! But who promised to come round as soon as he returned. As promised he was there on the dot. Regardless of the price he would have had the job, from my first contact he was honest, reliable and as it happened most competitive. I can only describe them as my Knights in shining armour. They arrived on site, knuckled down and did a fantastic job of the extension eating plenty of apple strudel in the process. At every stage the communication was unquestionable, snags were overcome and I can only describe the finished product as awesome. Not only have they done what was asked but they have done many extras and nothing seemed too much trouble for both Carl and Martyn, I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to use them for whatever the job and they will be top of my list should i need any other work carried out. I can only say that i feel very grateful and privileged to have met Carl and Martyn and thank them for all they have done for me.

Guest & Roberts undertook the building work on our house to convert the integral garage to a playroom and provide replacement windows, doors, fascias, soffits and gutters . A first class job from start to finish. We found Carl & Martyn to be professional, hardworking, knowledgeable, tidy, reliable, honest and trustworthy. Nothing was too much trouble, the few problems that were encountered were quickly rectified with the minimum of fuss. When we wanted a small extension on the front of our house we had no hesitation in contacting Martyn and Carl. Guest and Roberts Builders Ltd carried out a bedroom with en-suite extension to our house over an existing kitchen, which was a challenging build due to location and access and without affecting any of the kitchen below and even kept the original ceiling which was fantastic considering the original roof had to be completely removed. From start to finish Carl and Martyn and associates were professional, knowledgeable in their field and carried out the initial inspections and liaised with the local authority building inspector to quickly get the work underway.

They arrived promptly every day without fail weather permitting until the roof was on then even the bad weather couldn’t keep them away. All work was carried out to plan and on time and to budget and to the highest standard. We are extremely satisfied with the work carried out on our home. We would highly recommend anyone thinking of undertaking any building work small or large to put your trust in Guest & Roberts.
